Burra Heritage Cottages
A unique country Bed and Breakfast experience that will take you back to the life of an Australian living in the 1800's. Constructed in 1856 by James and Emma Tiver the cottages are listed on the Register of State Heritage Items, the Register of the National Estate and are regarded as unique examples of Cornish/British architecture. Barry and Maureen Wright carefully restored all cottages for bed and breakfast accommodation. Winners of two regional tourism awards as well as the 1995 St George Bank/National Trust Conservation Award in South Australia, they offer an opportunity to experience a genuine heritage cottage with modern comforts or, as one person wrote in the visitors' book "a journey to the past, travelling first class". Each cottage is fully self-contained. One cottage has two double/queen bedrooms and one has a double and a twin, perfect for a family.
