Butterfly Affect Psychotherapy

As a therapist, I'm passionate about what I do. It is an honor to be with each of my clients as they dig into their truest selves and become more adept at navigating their unique inner world. Therapists aren't healers. we are more like witnesses to our clients as they learn to master the discipline of self-study and develop the tools to move themselves past the limits of their personal wounding. My clients tend to be interested in doing the kind of deep inner work that frees their most authentic self. I use interventions based in gestalt, IFS, somatic psychology, mindfulness, dreamwork, and transpersonal perspectives to help clients stay with their experience long enough that they might learn to pick up the scent of their own trail at the moments they have lost it in the past. I work with three main populations- those in early adulthood who are interested in cultivating their most authentic selves, in better navigating their career choices in a rapidly changing economic paradigm, and in developing skills for regulating anxiety, difficult emotions, and depressive symptoms- those affected by life-changing illness,(whether caretaker, spouse, family member, or identified patient) who want to be supported as they adjust to new ways of living, make sense of what is happening to them, and are interested in exploring the potentials for personal and spiritual growth presented by these novel and often difficult life experiences- professional musicians who want support as they deal with the unique demands of being on tour, and who, in light of the drastic social changes ushered in by the Coronavirus pandemic, are now adjusting to the uncertainty of an industry that has been hit especially hard.
