C39 Salud

C39-Salud is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving childhood health in rural Ecuador through integrated programs in nutrition, neurodevelopment, and vision care. The pediatric team is led by Founder and Co-Director Paula Morales-Moreno, MD, a physician scientist specializing in clinical and translational research on pediatric genetic disorders and global health. The ophthalmology team is led by Founder and Director Cesar Estrada-Puente, MD, a physician scientist specializing in translational vision science with a focus on early-onset retinal dystrophies. The organization provides comprehensive developmental monitoring, preventive nutritional care, early vision screening, diagnosis, and treatment to address the root causes of malnutrition, developmental delays, and visual impairments. Under their leadership, C39-Salud combines clinical research with community-centered care to improve health outcomes for vulnerable children and serve as a model for pediatric health programs worldwide
