Ca Berry Genetics

With farming roots deeply imbedded in my DNA, I knew from a very young age, that I was going to be a farmer. I became a third-generation farmer, when I started with a small five-acre plot of blueberries in Kingsburg, Ca. Finding the scientific elements of farming both enjoyable and interesting, it was on that five-acre plot, where I developed a passion for berries. In my time as a grower, packer, and shipper, I’ve had the opportunity to see berries throughout their entire journey from the fields to the consumer level. I’ve identified some desirable traits, as well as some challenges with some of the existing varieties. However, when looking for new options, I realized the need for a nursery right here in California. Located in the heart of one of the world’s most agriculturally productive regions, I saw a need for a resource that would focus solely on blueberries, and would offer fellow growers new and exclusive selections to help them keep pace with the industry changes. At California Berry Genetics we are proud to be amongst the first nurseries of our kind in California. We are driven by science and work with some of the best universities’ berry breeding programs available. Our team is constantly evaluating new selections to find the best varieties for all growing regions and environments. We are growers at heart, so our focus will always be our growers’ success!
