CAB ROTO is a small, innovative design studio that thrives on complex, multidisciplinary projects. With years of experience across design, construction, and manufacturing, we embrace creative freedom while ensuring our concepts are both inventive and achievable. Based in Maroochydore since 2013, we primarily work on the Sunshine Coast but also take on projects in Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Central Queensland, and Melbourne. We’re drawn to ideas that emerge from constraints, thrive on the unknown and take on an ambitious range of projects for a small practice. We approach every project with deep consideration of performance, longevity and resale. Development Support We’re the principal designer behind major works at The Wharf Mooloolaba and now The Big Pineapple. We collaborate with developers, builders and consultants to activate areas, improve leasing potential and apply cohesive visual themes that honour site heritage while embracing evolving trends. Building Design We design buildings of all styles and functions for development applications, feasibility studies, and promotion. We happily navigate building codes and planning schemes and work closely with town planners. For low-rise commercial and high-end residential projects, we provide approval, tender and construction docs. Interior Design We’re well-versed in hospitality design, working closely with venue owners to create spaces that perform—front and back of house. We design medical, retail, office, and gym spaces with the same meticulous attention to function and flow. Objects and Installations Our team and collaborators have extensive experience in material manipulation—furniture construction, dressmaking and metal fabrication. We have an onsite workshop for bespoke furniture and lighting, a sewing studio for textile work, and direct access to larger wood and metal shops with CNC cutting and bending capabilities. If it doesn’t require a trade qualification, chances are we can build it.
