It was started by Dawson Bunn who still heads the company today. CAD Consultancy has also been a key area for CADology, not only for the Autodesk products but also services have been provided in the Intergraph (IGDS) and MicroStation field covering installations, software development and training. Over the years CAD software has been developed using the development environments of AutoCAD and MicroStation covering AutoLISP, ADS, UCM, MDL, ObjectARX and now mostly using the.NET framework with clients abroad to those here in the UK. Since the launch of AutoCAD the use of the Object Model has been used to develop and train customers. Also using Autodesk APS cloud technologies covering Design Automation API's for off premise processing of CAD drawings with DWF/PDF output. For the last 20 years, Dawson has been developing aviation based solutions mainly for Flight Procedure Design covering the ICAO PANS-OPS and FAA TERPS criteria's. In the last few years CADology has been reviewing and using the newer technologies for software development, this work has been focused on app development covering WinForms, UWP and Windows App SDK for Windows (PC, ARM, Mobiles). An important part of the development and life cycle of software products/apps is now contained within the DevOps environment giving source code control, Agile work methodology, automated builds for continuous integration (CI) and delivery (CD) and this is all achieved using Azure DevOps.
