Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) Consulting Engineering firm located in suburban location outside of St. Paul, Minnesota. We also specify fire protection systems for buildings. The company was founded in 1983 as Cain Ouse Associates and changed its name in 2011 to Cain Thomas Associates, Inc. to reflect the ownership of Jay Cain and Scott Thomas. In addition to traditional MEP Design services, we also offer Commissioning, LEED Consulting, Energy Modeling and expert witness type services. We are a service-driven company providing our clients with value through innovation and proactive engineering solutions. Our engineering goal is to provide energy efficient and sustainable solutions that meet client expectations while protecting the public interests We are extremely customer service oriented. It is our primary goal to satisfy the expectations of our clients. Our services are at a high level and it is our goal to provide each project with Principal involvement and "hands-on" service. In addition to building systems, our electrical department provides roadway, street scape and bridge lighting design. Our mechanical department has been instrumental in receiving four design awards in recent years for innovative and energy efficient design strategies. Innovative design strategies can be an economical approach and do not need to be the most expensive design. Technical Society memberships of the company and staff include ACEC, ASHRAE, ASPE, CLEP, IES, NFPA, SFPE, and USGBC.
