California Lectures

California Lectures is a nonprofit literary arts organization based in Sacramento. The organization presents speaking engagements by distinguished, nationally recognized authors, poets, historians, journalists, and cultural figures who talk about themselves, their work, and issues of contemporary culture. The presentations take place in downtown Sacramento and are broadcast on National Public Radio affiliate stations. California Lectures provides Education & Outreach services benefiting the Sacramento region and donates hundreds of tickets each year to underserved students and community organizations. California Lectures is funded in part through earned income from ticket sales, and through contributions made by individuals from the community, corporations, foundations, and city/county government agencies.
