We are the independent oversight arm of the California State Legislature and the custodians of California’s Whistleblower Hotline. Our mission is to provide objective evaluations and effective solutions that enhance the transparency, accountability, and performance of California government for the people it serves. We are trusted to produce unbiased, nonpartisan reports that provide recommendations to solve some of our state’s toughest problems. Our work is independent, nonpartisan, and results directly from the facts and data we collect. When decision-makers act on our recommendations, real change happens. Because of our work, children have improved access to preventive health care, more California students are protected at our institutions of higher learning, there’s increased accountability in the spending of public funds, and small businesses can count on more fair equitable protections for California’s growing cannabis industry.
