Capeless Crusader has developed a reputation as one of the best sources for news, reviews, and commentary about the comic book industry. With a focus on independent work, Capeless Crusader delivers content which is among the most in-depth and well-researched of any site in the field. Launched in 2012, the site's original contributer, Joshua Epstein, quickly expanded the team, adding editorial oversight by Michael Stock as well as regular weekly columnists. In 2014, the site underwent a large-scale expansion, breaking into News, Reviews, and Features divisions. With Epstein serving as Editor-in-Chief, Stock transitioned to Features Editor while the site added veteran reviewer Mike Sains as Reviews Editor and recruited SoundOnSight.org contributor Logan Dalton to serve as News Editor. Under this latest arrangement, Capeless Crusader features a team of nearly two dozen, delivering over 30 pieces of original content per day. CapelessCrusader.org content reaches over 2500 unique users per month. In the two years since the initial launch, the site has over unique page views and is currently growing readership at a rate of 20% each month.
