If you ask the internal customer in a company or a suppler, what they think about the procurement function, you will get the hard truth: Outdated, slow, lack of transparency, etc. Some is due to software that doesn't meet the demands of 2024, but there are other more holistic reasons too. Bad procurement processes has both human - and company consequences. Hard to understand processes with way longer lead times than the need date, leads to low compliance and irritation. The hardworking procurement officers themselves suffers, clearly shown by significantly higher burn-out rates than average. Inevitably a bad reputation has been created, which making it also harder to attract new talent. It's a snowball effect. From the company perspective there are large cost consequences. Imagine all the departments that are waiting in queue to get a crucial component for their important project. Time to marked can be several months longer than they expected. It's even worse: Did the extra time actually mitigate all the risks? In 2021 we decided to start developing a tailor-made SaaS for the procurement function, based on the maturation of several concepts that we as procurement specialists had discovered over the years. Our aim is not just to only bring you a modern software. That brings you to the starting point; 2024. Our focus is rather on what we believe are the holistic issues of procurement, and we believe that if addressed properly, we can shorten the time used in a procurement process with up to several months for complex ones, while at the same time increasing the quality of each step in the process. Its sounds paradoxical, but we have a rationale for this. Necessarily, since 70-90% of a company's Co2 footprint lies in Scope 3 emissions, our concepts must address our increased ESG responsibility.
