At Cara Development Foundation, we envision a society free from poverty and food insecurity. Our journey began in 2014, in the bid to serve the underserved and ensure that women are empowered to take responsibility for their health through Agricultural endeavours. We were driven by a passion to support communities in Nigeria, particularly in the Niger-delta region. We started by addressing issues of maternal health and poverty reduction through economic development, and have since expanded our focus to address food security and achieve safe motherhood and we mainstream Gender in all our programs. Our mission is to support communities to reduce poverty, attain food security, and achieve safe motherhood for sustainable development. We uphold the values of integrity, professionalism, excellence, partnership, and sustainability in all we do. Through capacity building, awareness creation and advocacy, we have positively impacted lives and we continue to strive for greater impact. We are proud to have received the ASA Awards 2019 for our innovative and dedicated work in development.
