Care2travel

Care2Travel is an independent, non-profit association in Romania, established in 2011. It was formed as a result of observing numerous foreign volunteers being ineffectively placed and managed in Romania. These foreign volunteers were sent by international volunteering organizations that had no understanding of the real need of the country. In addition, it was observed that volunteering by locals was still a relatively new concept. The main goal of Care2Travel is to develop the effectiveness of foreign volunteers and to introduce and develop the concept of volunteering among the local community. Current volunteer placements include childcare, teaching English, NGO support, agriculture, after-school support, special needs care, and animal care. Our volunteer program is based in the town of Miercurea Ciuc, Harghita in eastern Transylvania.
