Typical of this approach is our Carephone Landline Pendant – it’s the only alarm system in the UK with a microphone and a speaker in the pendant itself. Most systems only provide these together in the base station which we realised was no help to the majority of users who were be likely to be elsewhere during an emergency – in this instance a speaker provides real comfort by letting the user know help is on the way. You can see further innovation in the Carephone Mobile where we recognised the valuable part GPS tracking technology could play in providing extra reassurance by being able to locate the handset (and therefore most likely the user) through a secure online portal.
