The CCL (Comité de Coopération avec le Laos) operates solely in Lao PDR and benefits from almost 40 years of experience in rural development and natural resources management projects in Laos towards remote ethnic minorities. Over the years, CCL build a strong expertise on constraints and issues faced by the poorest communities and build trust-based partnerships with local authorities, allowing great positive impacts, effectiveness and sustainability in its actions. In order to maximize the relevance of CCL's actions, projects’ beneficiaries and partners actively participate in all stages of project design, implementation and assessment. CCL’s global objective is to support the sustainable development of Lao PDR and to participate in reducing the poverty in all its forms especially of remote communities. To achieve this goal, CCL participates in rural and agricultural development through the dissemination of innovative agroecological practices, the promotion of participatory and multi-stakeholders process in the sector of natural resources and land management, the support for the development and structuration of NTFP value chains, the implementation of health and nutrition awareness campaigns, the promotion of women leadership in all actions. CCL aims also to strengthen the Lao civil society, through establishing partnerships with Lao Non-Profit Associations and local authorities, providing capacity building to their team and, through active participation within the iNGOs working in Lao PDR. Currently -in 2018- CCL implements projects in Phongsali, Oudomxay, Luang Namtha, Vientiane and Khammouanne Provinces. CCL is ruled by an Executive Board based in France and Laos, and locally managed by its Lao Director supported by a permanent Lao and expatriate team in Vientiane. CCL benefits from Lao staff with long experience in Lao Uplands and originated from target areas and communities, making its local anchorage particularly strong.
