Cedars was founded in September 2010 in accordance with a vivid conviction to reveal God through education with the following scriptures serving as a guide: Psalms 78 vs 6-7 “That the generation to come might know them. The children who would be born, that they may arise and declare them to their children, that they may set their hope in God, And not forget the works of God But keep His commandments.”Colossians 1 vs 17…In Christ all things consist and Zephaniah 3 vs 14-20. God wants to make Cedars a name and a praise among all people of the earth. Cedars has become a place to be indeed! From the time you enter the premises of Cedars, you can feel why it s the place for your child. The presence of God with us is our major ace. Then the caring adult well experienced staff and a well prepared environment. Cedars school is the vision of Mrs. Lilian Akuma way back in 1992 when she became convinced that running a school is a calling God wants to prepare her for in life. The School Proprietress, Mrs Lilian.N. Akuma graduated from the University of Lagos with a Bachelors degree in Educational Administration (1998), a Masters degree in Educational Psychology (2004) both from University of Lagos, Akoka, a diploma from the North American Montessori Centre (3-6years) and a diploma in Basic Montessori(0-6years)2003. She has furthered her learning in Montessori Elementary Curriculum 6-9years and International Primary Curriculum. She is also a graduate of Enterprise Development Services of the Pan African University where she obtained a certificate in Entrepreneurial Management. She has taught, headed and consulted in many schools, such as Grace Children School Gbagada, Springforth Int’l School Surulere, Infantino Montessori School Lekki, Mastersville School Ajao estate, Goldenville Montessori School, Nazareth School Festac town and many others where she helped built, train school staff and improve the schools alongside their owners. Her passion is to develop people to their maximum potentials hence she runs regular training programmes for individuals and schools on regular basis. Cedars Educational Services Ltd was established and registered in February 29th, 2008. Cedars School was formerly opened in September 2010 at Adeniran Ogunsanya Surulere, Lagos and started with two infants in a bungalow space that housed the training centre only at the time. Enrolment later grew to 30 pupils at the centre and the school decided to secure a larger space for a proper school setting in February 2012. The Ministry of Education gave us an approval/Clearance to use the name: The Cedars-World Nursery and Primary School.
