Cedre

Centre of Documentation, Research and Experimentation on Accidental Water Pollution Cedre is a non-profit-making association created on 25 January 1979, as one of the measures taken in the aftermath of the Amoco Cadiz oil spill, to improve spill response preparedness and strengthen the national response organisation. It is responsible, on a national level, for documentation, research and experimentation on pollutants, their effects and the response means and tools that can be used to combat them. It is charged with providing advice and expertise to the authorities responsible for responding to accidental pollution. It is competent both for marine waters and inland surface waters.
