ABOUT CENTAUR: Centaur University is approved by the California Association of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselors (CAADAC) education foundation, known as the California Foundation for Advancement of Addiction Professionals (CFAAP). Approval #: 970088. Upon completion of any of our Chemical Dependency Counseling programs, students are able to begin working in the field of recovery immediately and are well-prepared to take the CAADAC exam. Our staff has over 100 years of education and experience in the fields of Chemical Dependency Counseling and Mental Health. Instructors are both nationally and internationally certified and are committed to their craft. Our low student-to-staff ratio ensures each student the highest quality in education and to provide personal attention for all our student's needs. Centaur University offers a variety of programs to meet student's personal and professional educational goals and needs: Our fast track CDC program provides students with the necessary classroom education to assist them in beginning their career in the field of Chemical Dependency Counseling. This program allows students to receive their certificate in just six months! Classes are available on-line and in class. Our fast track MFT - CDC program provides therapists the necessary courses to obtain certification in Chemical Dependency Counseling - with the intentional focus on chemical dependency for therapists wanting specialization in this field (this is an abbreviated version of our full Chemical Dependency Counseling program)- consisting of four specifically chosen phases + the practicum course. This is offered to MFTs online or in-class. Our Practicum program offers students who have completed their classroom time with us or elsewhere quality supervision for completing their Internship at an approved facility and the 11-week class time necessary for completing their education in Chemical Dependency Counseling - this course is offered on-line or in class.
