At The Center for Identity Potential, we offer specialized counseling and consulting services for the gifted and talented population along with general mental health counseling services. We have more than 30 years of experience working with complex cases that require extensive intervention and an interdisciplinary team to meet the multifaceted needs of our clients. From our office in Park Ridge, we work with clients throughout the great Chicago and suburban area as well as out of state clients. Our counselors and associated staff are a devoted team of professionals trained in the varied and intricate nature of intelligence and development. Through our team-based approach and collaboration with other professionals we develop a highly comprehensive evaluation and intensive counseling process designed to account for the myriad variables influencing each of our clients’ lives. Our goal is to appeal to all aspects of our clients’ lives to develop wide-reaching, pragmatic skills that allow our clients to progress beyond competence in their academic, interpersonal, and career environments, to become individuals who lead lives of meaning. Our services are very expansive, from individual and family counseling to group counseling, academic development and support and consultations for schools and businesses. For institutions or various groups that advocate and work with the gifted and talented population, we offer a variety of trainings and presentations aimed at increasing awareness of gifted and talented developmental needs. Our topics range from understanding academic struggles in gifted students, program development for gifted education, social-emotional needs of the gifted to activating potential in the gifted adult.
