Center For Nondestructive Evaluation

The Center for NDE at Iowa State University, which celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2025, is the premier U.S. research organization for NDE research, technology transfer, education, and outreach. CNDE is comprised of scientists, engineers, and faculty who perform state-of-the-art research on a plurality of NDE techniques and applications. CNDE, its support staff, graduate and undergraduate students collaborate with industry and government partners to advance all things related to the broader field of NDE and materials characterization. CNDE is home to state-of-the-art research and commercial instrumentation within a sq. ft. complex, which enables cutting-edge investigations for numerous NDE modalities. CNDE has a long history of working with industry to provide cost-effective tools and solutions which address relevant problems for a variety of industrial sectors and applications.
