Center For Resilience Studies

The Center for Resilience Studies (CERS) is an applied research and consulting institution that works to build bridges between scientific evidence and public and private decision-making. We understand resilience as an emergent property of complex socio-ecological systems, where interdependencies between society, economy, environment, and institutions generate non-linear trajectories. Integrated statistics and extended national accounts provide the data framework that underpins our recommendations and ensures their traceability. Our modeling portfolio integrates system dynamics, economic–environmental models, scenario analysis, ecosystem services models, as well as spatial analysis using geographic information systems and remote sensing. As a bilingual organization, we offer contract research, strategic consulting, policy evaluation and design, as well as executive and technical training.
