The activity of the firm Ceramiche Desuir takes its origin from the passion for ceramics of the Esposito family, that has been appreciated in this field for four generations. Founded in 1900, it represents now the culture and tradition of Santo Stefano di Camastra in the province of Messina. The productive activity of kitchenware, pottery and especially tinned tiles was fundamental for the development of local economy. A significant boost to culture, to the creation of new trends and design studios was with the institution in the 50s of the Institute of Art. The Istitute of Art was founded at the beginning of the fifties and was directed for almost forty years by Professor Ciro Michele Esposito, Salvatore Esposito’s brother, father of Emanuele and Giuseppe current leaders of Ceramiche Desuir. Nowdays the Ceramiche Desuir is one the firms that apply traditions and innovations in the handicraft production of tiles, tools, furniture and bathrooms fittings using enamelling techniques and art décor that contribute to the uniqueness, eclecticism and elegance of the each single piece never forgetting tradition.
