I am Mike Porcelli and I've spent my life working in my family's auto repair businesses, even though my father advised me to get an education and not stay in the industry. I followed the first part of his advice, and obtained a great education, but decided to use it to improve our business and our industry, because I love what I do. My graduate school thesis was a study of the future of the repair industry, in which I foresaw the high-tech revolution that the industry has experienced. Since then I have tried to stay ahead of the curve in implementing new repair technologies and procedures. Decades ago that effort lead me to make my shop state-of-the-art, and obtain every certification offered by ASE and IICAR. Those credentials along with my decades of shop experience generated many requests for my consulting services. I have consulted and testified in hundreds of legal cases, served on many industry and education system advisory boards, settled many auto-claims disputes for clients, advised companies on product development and testing, and been an industry expert for all forms of media organizations. I have delivered reports and testimony in thousands of cases for clients around the country, while continuing to repair vehicles on a daily basis. The car in the header is not a trick photo, it was built by me in 1974 for my first consulting client, who wanted to demonstrate the capabilities of his modern repair facility. Every system on the car works on both sides, and it is fully functional both ways. In fact, I drove many customers home in it when they brought their cars in for repair.
