The Ceylon Motor Traders' Association (CMTA), founded on December 2, 1919 is one of the oldest trade associations affiliated to the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce. The CMTA is an affiliated trade association with the Ceylon Chamber of and is celebrating its 102nd year of existence. The is the most senior trade chamber in Sri Lanka, and widely respected as the most influential trade association in the Country. The Association represents the leading automotive manufacturers in the world through their local agents in Sri Lanka. The association is also open to automotive related franchise holders, and automotive ancillary industries. The CMTA strives to ensure sustainable growth for their membership and work towards achieving this strategy by establishing the position of the voice of the automotive industry in Sri Lanka.
