Wholesale manufacturer of truck loading dock equipment sold wholesale to about 250 dealers throughout the united states and international with some national accounts like walmart, menards, home depot, kohls. with over 70 years of experience. 6the oldest dock seal manufacturer in the busyness and family owned third generation privatly held. started by harvey chalfant in 1940, in 1956 tom chalfant took it over and in 1995 jeff chalfant took control. in 1940 started making awnings then in 1942 made all kinds of canva tents, bags, misc for the army in world war ii in 1950 started chalfant manufacturing company to manufacture metal awnings and expanded chalfant sewing to make dock seals 1950 designed the first dock seal made for clorox out of canvas and horse hair for theft now they are used mostly for heat loss and air conditioning loss. in 1955 expanded chalfant manufacturing to make cable tray support systems to hold up big electrical cables in baseball and football stadiums and also for warehouses. in the same year bought out 7 awning companies in ohio started two more companies first one was chalfant rattan furniture and second one was chalfant products company which owned the buildings and was used as a holding company for the other three. and here we are today 2009.
