Changing Perceptions Dc

Changing Perceptions serves justice-impacted adults and their families across the Washington metropolitan area, with special emphasis on Wards 5, 7 and 8 in the District of Columbia, where barriers to employment, housing, and mental-health supports are greatest. Our participants are resilient individuals returning home from incarceration, motivated to stabilize, reconnect with family, and contribute to their communities. We go the extra mile—because everyone deserves a future without limits. We believe every returning citizen and their family has the right to rebuild their life with dignity, opportunity, and belonging. Changing Perceptions is a community-based organization led and largely operated by people with lived experience, guiding justice-impacted individuals through healing, stability, and leadership so that reentry becomes reinvention.
