The curvaceous & exciting Chapeau began more than six years ago-Trip. We built, moved, created new, tore down and replanted; always asking ourselves:"what do I want to be when I grow up?" Like us, America's first settlers started small. And despite the best ingredients and culinary variety on the doorstep, the first result was: Mc Donalds, Burger King and KFC. So far so bad. But today, post-Plastic-Fantastic-Food, the new continent is showing its best side. And even here in the old world, foreign kitchens and fabulous cooks are moving ever closer together. Something new is created and delicious creations grow like germs from an old onion to the heights of the kitchen sky. Our goals firmly in sight and with a passion for perfection, we call it:"New Américain Cuisine" People laugh, cry, gossip, dance, sprawl on the shore. Steak fries are served. A dose of honesty. No frills. But large, uncovered, crispy fried pieces of meat that lie on the plate like thick pillows. Inside, the rooms are bathed in twilight. A man is just venting his tension at the cloakroom. In the night cat gray of the side booth, a couple kisses their lips bloody and believes in love. Insiders mingle with outsiders, creative types with people in business uniforms, trend darlings with Felix Krull oddballs. Beautiful women sit on the ledge and eat a thousand small vegetarian delicacies, lost in conversation. The facility breathes timelessness. The scenery practices fine discretion, only speaking when asked. The black hat lamps paint lines on the walls.
