Chef Amy consistently delights families with memorable meals—week after week and month after month—by drawing inspiration from diverse international culinary traditions. The richness of French butter and the fiery spice of Thailand. The delicate yet bold flavors of Japan and the fresh herbs of Vietnam. The vast depth and vibrant flavors of Spain, Italy, and the Mediterranean. The "feel" of shrimp and grits from her Southern upbringing and the seasonal bounty of her favorite California farmer's markets. Her passion is translating broad collections of flavors and senses into family meals that are simultaneously delicious and nutritious. Pursuing the connection between health and flavorful food is how Amy became a chef. She cares deeply about helping people feel their best and adjusts to allergies and intolerances with sensitivity and ingenuity. In addition to receiving her diploma from the progressive Natural Gourmet Institute, she became double certified by two nationally acclaimed wellness programs. First, through Dr. Sears Wellness Institute, a top-ranked whole food and nutrition program. Then, through the National Board of Health & Wellness Coaching, sharpening skills to help clients communicate, set, and achieve wellness goals. Influences from 20 years of culinary training plus health and wellness coaching provide the foundation of her nutrition-forward cuisine for Bay Area families. Service areas include Oakland and the East Bay, San Francisco, south to Palo Alto and north to Mill Valley.
