We are a casual hideaway serving delectable modern Peranakan cuisine. From craft cocktails to tantalising dishes, we bring a twist on the traditional Peranakan flavors and spices to tickle your senses. Cherki draws its inspiration and its roots from Singapore’s heritage as one of the important ports of call along the Silk Road. The Chinese that settled here in the past has intermingled with the local community to form the multi-racial culture that we see in Singapore today. This blending of cultures gave birth to some of the things we hold most dear in Singapore today such as our language, Singlish and more importantly, our food. Our name, Cherki, is the name of an old Peranakan card game which was a favorite of many a Nyona in the past. It was said that it got so addictive that they had to pawn or sell their jewelry just to try their luck at this game! Our name pays homage to the unique Peranakan culture and at the same time, we hope that our customers will have as much fun here as the Nyonas did playing the game in the past.
