At Cheviot, we love to sweat the details. From travelling to Portugal to speak to the person who hand enamels cast iron bathtubs at the oldest family owned producer in Europe, to visiting Turkey to time a fireclay sink’s run through the tunnel kiln, we want to know everything there is to know about our products and the hands that created them. Every sink, toilet, bathtub, and faucet that leaves our warehouse is hand inspected, cleaned, and approved for delivery to our customers. We do these things because that’s the way we would want them done if we were the customers. There are less expensive, less time-consuming ways to run our business, but that’s just not who we are. We started Cheviot because we were tired of seeing homeowners stuck with generic, outdated, and often, low quality bathroom fixtures driven by production efficiencies and profit margins rather than care, consideration, and attention to the customer experience. We wanted to bring the European and Asian traditions of heritage, craftsmanship, and respect to the North American market. The future is approaching fast, and we love it!
