At Chicks in Crisis, we’re more than just a resource center – we’re a family dedicated to supporting young parents, particularly students and those from low-income households, as they navigate the challenges of parenthood. Our primary goal is to reduce the number of infants entering foster care by equipping parents with the necessary skills and resources for responsible parenting. We’re committed to helping parents find hope and strength to better themselves, enabling them to become capable individuals who can contribute positively to society without relying on government assistance. Through our programs, we assist pregnant and parenting teens, women, and dads of all ages to stay in school, manage family size, and pursue secondary education or vocational training. Additionally, we’re committed to supporting a diverse range of individuals, including victims of sex trafficking, former foster children who have aged out of the system, and clients who have never had parental role models. We provide education, support, and guidance to help them navigate life’s challenges and embark on paths toward a brighter future. Our programs are designed to empower these individuals and equip them with the necessary skills and resources to overcome obstacles and achieve their goals. The primary objectives of our program are- Provide essential support services to young parents, especially students and those from low-income backgrounds, to help them manage parenthood while pursuing their education- Break the cycle of poverty by empowering young parents to achieve their academic and personal goals, ensuring the health and stability of their family- Address the critical need for diapers and other essential items among families in the community, offering material assistance, guidance, and resources for long-term success- Extend outreach efforts to underserved communities and those with limited access to resources and support networks- Foster inclusivity and diversity
