انطلقت إدارة سلامة الطفل في العام 2011 تحت اسم "حملة سلامة الطفل"، كإحدى مبادرات المجلس الأعلى لشؤون الأسرة، واستمرت في عملها كحملة حتى إصدار سمو الشيخة جواهر بنت محمد القاسمي، في أكتوبر 2018، قراراً إدارياً قضى بتأسيس "إدارة سلامة الطفل"، لتأتي استكمالاً لأهداف ورؤية الحملة، في نشر الوعي بأهمية المحافظة على سلامة الأطفال وحمايتهم وتحقيق الاستقرار الاجتماعي لهم، وصولاً إلى مجتمع يتمتع فيه الأطفال بالصحة النفسية والسلامة الجسدية. The Child Safety Department was launched in 2011 as "The Child Safety Campaign" as one of the initiatives of the Supreme Council of Family Affairs and continued as a campaign until HH Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammad Al Qasimi decreed in October 2018 on administrative act that established the Child Safety Department thus continuing the mission and the goals of the campaign, to spread awareness regarding the importance of child safety and protection and to work towards creating social stability for them, to achieve a society where children enjoy mental and physical health.
