Chineasy

With its award-winning designs, Chineasy has become one of the most recognizable brands in the world of language education. Our Chineasy collection, ranging from print publications to online audiovisual content, shines as an example of how to fuse design with technology to solve large-scale problems. Our company was founded in 2013 by ShaoLan—a Taiwanese-born entrepreneur, designer, author, two-time TED speaker, and dreamer. Aspiring to bring together East and West, she developed the now highly acclaimed methodology which has revolutionized how people learn Chinese around the world. In 2017, to build upon Chineasy’s catalogue of printed works, ShaoLan and the team launched the 7-minute daily podcast “Learn Chinese Every Day with ShaoLan.” In June of that same year, we released Chineasy Tiles, applying our iconic designs and methodology to a fun, interactive game for students and families. In 2018, we launched the Chineasy app to make learning Chinese on the go even more fun and easy. Selected as an Apple “Editor‘s Choice,” it quickly rose to #2 and #6 in the education category of the UK and US App Stores, respectively. ShaoLan was even featured by Apple that year on International Women’s Day. And in 2019, the Chineasy app was featured on the new Apple Watch App Store during the keynote address at the Worldwide Developers Conference in San Jose. Building on this success, in 2024, we introduced Talk Chineasy, our latest app designed to bring immersive, conversation-focused Chinese learning to learners everywhere. By combining video lessons with real-world phrases and dialogue practice, the app empowers users to speak confidently, whether preparing for travel, work, or daily interactions. Talk Chineasy is the next step in our mission to make learning Chinese accessible and enjoyable.
