Chineham Medical Practice
Chineham Medical Practice started life in 1983 when an additional surgery was built by Bramblys Grange Practice (in the town centre) to meet the needs of the growing population. The surgery opened in a bungalow at 53 Reading Road in 1983 with Dr Elizabeth Williams as the sole GP. The practice population rose to in 1986 when she was joined by Philip Hiorns. Practice nurses were the next to join with Jacquie and Jenny working out of what had been a tiny bedroom. Keith Ollerhead joined in 1989. Around that time Christ Church was built and the New Chineham Surgery opened its doors in September 1990. The new surgery initially served patients - now there are Over the past 30 years there have been extensions and adaptations to the building and we now have 13 doctors, GP registrars, nurses, nurse practitioners, midwives, physios, other allied health professionals and of course our reception and admin teams all working to meet the population needs.
