Chingari sources raw materials from far and near. Jaipur, Bangalore, Bijapur, Kalimpong, Bangkok, USA and Chennai are just some of the places. These materials are put together in elegant designs by Kavitha Sridharan. Kavitha Sridharan was working with an international bank before her desire to be creative in all walks of life overwhelmed every other consideration. From her culinary exploits to the sari and clothes she would design and embroider to the terracotta and glass she would paint- her insatiable interest in aesthetics and design shone through. This, coupled with her passion for the Crafts of India, has led to the birth of Chingari Jewellery. Kavitha also works with some NGOs and women’s Self Help Groups that make Jute bags, Screwpine bags and other handicrafts. She supports them by getting orders and giving them design inputs etc. She supports an NGO working for children having Down’s Syndrome. They undertake printing orders of many sorts. Kavitha has also conducted many courses in craft and needlework(embroidery) for children.
