Choose Klaipeda

The ‘European Youth Capital’ (EYC) title is awarded by the European Youth Forum to a European municipality for a period of one year, during which it is given the chance to showcase its youth-related cultural, social, political, economic life and development. The EYC title encourages municipalities to both continue and expand the implementation of youth participation projects and to develop the active participation of young people in society. Klaipeda is a port city on the coast of the Baltic Sea, the center of Western Lithuania, the third-largest city in Lithuania. However, it is the first love in one’s hearts, the city of studies, or simply a home for others. Klaipeda will be the European Youth Capital 2021. Young people will be encouraged to create perfect conditions for high-quality employment, non-formal education, life, business development, ideas realization, civic and political engagement to become a more open and welcoming city for the local and global youth.
