About my Service According to Article 31 section 4 of Regulation (EU) No. 1169/2011 on the provision of food information to consumers. “The declared values shall, according to the individual case, be average values based on:(a) the manufacturer’s analysis of the food;(b) a calculation from the known or actual average values of the ingredients used; or (c) a calculation from generally established and accepted data.“ The Department of Heath Technical Guidance on Nutritional Labelling published in Oct 2016 states: In the UK, “generally established and accepted data” can be found in book form in McCance & Widdowson’s The Composition of Foods or online in McCance & Widdowson’s The Composition of Foods integr ated dataset. This means that nutritional labels for food products can be produced without any costly testing. The data from published sources can be used if you have the knowledge and experience to do so.
