Cilwana Studio is kashmir's first home grown brand known for its cross culture clothing and trend-setting footwear which includes Loafers, Juttis, Mules, shoes. The footwear design is a fusion of traditional kashmiri aari and tilla work with modern footwear. The brand is also coming up with a prototype sneaker design for the next season where the traditional kashmiri designs will be seen on sneakers. The Chinar, the Almond, and the Floral patterns are some of the designs being made in kashmir for decades now, but Cilwana Studio has shown how our designs can be used for creating a different style of footwear. The credit for starting this venture goes to Nusaiba Bhat a young entrepreneur who always had a dream of doing something different with traditional kashmiri art. Fusion was something that she wanted to do to revive this dying art Of tilla and aari and so many other designs. When asked about her work, Nusaiba mentioned that the most satisfying aspect of her work was not only the efforts to revive the art but also the fact that the artisans receive proper remunerations for their work. These artisans were never paid properly and many of them had left their art, and we are ensuring that not only they come back to their art but also are paid duly. Cilwana Studio is not only a fashion brand, but it is a brand with a social purpose. We want to not only revive Kashmir art within the country but also want to internationalise it by making designs and products which take kashmiri identity across the world.
