As human beings are all moving to cities, in search of new ideas and greater opportunities, these urban areas are becoming the hub of the world economy and culture. Smart Governance -local strategies, policies, processes and tools- has now become a critical factor to ensure sustainable urban ecosystems. The Cities in Motion Initiative is a Knowledge and Research center to be launched in January 2012 by the IESE Center for Globalization and Strategy, which main goal is to create innovative and practical thinking and tools that will make local governments, all over the world, smarter. The initiative will connect a worldwide network of city experts and specialized private companies with local administrations. MISSION: To excel at supporting cities and urban areas around the world in their goal to achieve innovation, sustainability, efficiency and progress for their inhabitants
