CineFocus Canada is a creative production company making broadcast, video, and digital programming that is universal in concept, timeless in scope, and translatable to multiple platforms. Our social enterprise allows us to make a difference in the world working with people who share our enthusiasm and ideals. CineFocus' documentaries, factual series, commissioned videos and multi-platform digital media projects inspire and inform, with the goal of addressing social issues, protecting the environment, and motivating people to take action on important issues we share as global citizens. Since we began in 1991, CineFocus has been part of a movement to improve the conditions, livelihoods and involvement of people from under-represented groups– including Francophone, women, Indigenous, racialized groups, newcomers, and members of the LGBTQ+ community. Many of our projects have been produced in both official languages and reflect the diversity of the people in Canada. We are deeply respectful of Indigenous teachings, collaborate on projects, and bring indigenous voices and knowledge to the content we create. We also work with labour unions and health equity organizations to improve people's working lives and their standard of living. Our experience working closely with a broad cross-section of people, in front of the camera and behind the scenes, helps us learn and ensures their voices are heard and experience seen.
