Classmates Literacy Foundation

Equity in education begins with effective reading instruction for ALL students. We believe every child deserves a strong foundation in literacy—regardless of background, zip code, or disability—and that begins with well-prepared educators. By removing financial barriers to best-in-class professional development, we expand access to evidence-based training, empowering teachers with the knowledge and skills to meet the needs of EVERY student in their classroom, including those with learning differences such as dyslexia. CLF provides training for teachers in the Slant System®, a best-in-class, Orton-Gillingham, structured literacy professional development program. Structured literacy is an approach to reading instruction based on science that works for all children, but is essential for those with reading difficulties and dyslexia which represent 15-20% of students.
