The Claybrook crew formed like many energetic British start-ups; around a kitchen table and some tea. One thing became clear very quickly - it was time for a change. It was time to break the decades long cycle of being overcharged for commodity product when we knew how to provide better for less. Time to focus on the customer experience; to make it easier for customers at the front end, and build systems backwards from that. Time to bypass costly middlemen and use our expert eye to pick the best of the best. To have free samples, free or low-cost delivery charges, and always someone on the end of the phone. The tiles had to be of the highest quality, with rigorous standards of craftsmanship, but with a truly eye-catching aesthetic. We wanted to be in stock of almost everything we sell with predictable pricing for our clients, not constant sale periods. In short, we wanted to redefine the industry with a radical new approach - competitive pricing without a reduction in quality, all rooted in our passion for great design.
