Clean Start has evolved from one great idea to the dynamic, phenomenal and fast- growing organization it is today. It is the brainchild of Teresa Njoroge, the bearer of a God- ordained vision for women in prison, women, women accompanied by their children in prison and women leaving the prison. Clean Start works with women and children impacted by the criminal justice system to restore dignity and hope for successful reintegration into society. Our Vision: Re-imagining futures, reclaiming destinies We are each other’s destiny. It is our choice and obligation to create a future where everyone counts. A future where we have sought solutions to petty survival crimes. This future is possible. We have never felt this more than we do today. It will require us all to recognize that the status quo is not an option- that each of us is needs to change the way the world handles those leaving correctional institutions
