Clear Sky Initiative

The illegal use of audio-visual content and the protection of intellectual property rights are the problems faced by most of the rightsholders. What to do if intellectual property rights have already been violated? What are the types of violations? What restrictions should be brought to notice? What may be achieved when protecting your rights?"Clear Sky" Initiative offers you possible solutions, taking into account significant experience of its participants. It was launched in the summer of 2013 by four major Ukrainian media groups, such as 1+1Media, StarLightMedia, Media Group Ukraine and Inter Media Group. It aims to promote licensed audio-visual products and oppose sites/ marketplaces distributing pirated content in breach of intellectual property laws. Clear Sky Initiative welcomes any newcomers joining the initiative if they favour the principles shared by its founders and in particular: 1. Commitment to the intellectual property right, to the right of a creator to get a fair reward for his work. Respect to those sources and efforts invested into creation of their works and understanding that the illegal monetization in the Internet limits the development of the audio-visual sphere. Readiness to fight firmly for their product. Blocking violators of other rights holders' rights 4. Participation in the Clear Sky anti-piracy activities both within and outside the Initiative. The principles may be subject to amendments and supplements in the course of an increase in the Initiative membership, any changes in the social context or challenges faced by the Initiative. In order to overcome piracy, the concerted action of market participants is necessary. The sooner all of us, as responsible informed members of the civil society, begin to act, the sooner we move on to new levels of protection of copyright and related rights.
