Over the last decade, I've helped build a lot of digital products. I've launched new products 0 to 1, I've re-imagined legacy products, I've sunset end-of-lifecycle products. I've seen it all. In 2020, I started Clock Ninjas, offering Product Coaching and Consulting services as a side hustle. I have learned so much more than I could have ever imagined, but most important of all, I discovered something staggering. Few companies offer their Product teams ANY type of formal training or coaching. Too many new Product Managers are just thrown into the fire. Maybe they have a mentor or a leader to work with, but guess what? They were never formally trained or coached either. What happens? So many new Product Managers end up confused and frustrated with their role. They don't know what their actual job function is, or how to do it. They have two options: 1. Drudge on in this environment feeling like an imposter. All the while carrying the fear that someone will one day realize they don't add value to the company, and fire them. 2.Go out and spend thousands of dollars for some form of Product Management or certification that doesn't actually teach them HOW to be a Product Manager or help them land a better job in the industry. It was at this point, I decided to take Clock Ninjas to the next level and offer up everything I've learned along the way. All the best practices, mistakes, misconceptions, and jokes.
