Clocktime Digital
The Clocktime website is an open-access digital museum created by the world-renowned inventor Dr John C Taylor OBE FREng. The project is inspired by the innovatory spirit of the early clockmakers.#Clocktime #ClocktimeDigitalMuseum #DigitalMuseum Dr Taylor is best known for developing the bi-metal control that switches electric kettles off on boiling. He is one of the UK’s most prolific inventors, with over 400 patents to his name. He is also a widely respected horologist and collector, specialising in the history of British horology, navigation and aviation. He sees the clock as humankind’s ‘most significant invention’ and, over the past 30 years, he has lovingly amassed a world-class collection of early British clocks, watches and scientific instruments. Clocktime digital museum has been created to share Dr Taylor’s passion and enthusiasm for horology. His aim is to inspire young people to appreciate the beauty, craft and engineering skills of makers and to provide access for everyone to view these masterpieces working!
