CNet, Inc. was founded in 1985, located in the "telecommunications corridor" outside Dallas, Texas, and merged with Glenayre Technologies in 1997. CNet's products and services were primarily used in the design, implementation and management of wireless communications networks. The company served an extensive, international client base in the Americas, Europe and the Pacific Rim, including a majority of the Bell Operating Companies and major equipment manufacturers worldwide. Its OPTIONS(tm) family of products and services included- BOS(tm)- Basic Operations System - pioneered critical real-time "mission control" support for wireless communications network operations centers around the world- WiNGS(tm)- Wireless Network Graphics System - provided interactive decision support for engineers with the most accurate radio modeling capabilities available, and supported the complete wireless system life cycle, from initial capital planning through system operation, expansion, and implementation of advanced technologies- Traffic Trending Tool(tm)- integrated RF data and network operating information for efficient network analysis and trend assessment, giving wireless operators the information they need to make educated decisions about network, marketing and financial issues- Professional Services (Engineering & Project Management)- through an experienced staff of wireless industry professionals, CNet supported the unique needs of clients in such areas as basic system design, site acquisition, performance verification, project management, feasibility studies, tender responses, and training. These services were provided from CNet's offices or on location anywhere in the world.
