Coby - The Coping Buddy

At COBY – The Coping Buddy, we are building an AI-powered plushtoy companion that helps children with special challenges and their families cope with everyday struggles and life-changing situations. COBY is more than a toy – it is a trusted buddy that combines practical tips, emotional support, and playful interaction with the highest standards of privacy and safety. Developed in co-creation with leading clinics like the Haunersche Kinderklinik at LMU Munich, COBY bridges the gap between medical treatment and the emotional reality families face at home. For kids – COBY listens, talks, plays, and guides through moments of stress, loneliness, or frustration, helping them feel seen and supported. For parents – COBY provides insights, coping strategies, and a safe space for children to express emotions. For clinics – COBY supports young patients before, during, and after procedures, and strengthens resilience through evidence-based interaction modes. Our progress so far: Prototype testing with families, schools, and clinics (children with ADHD, autism, diabetes, and separated parents).
