Cocreate Humanity Cch

CoCreate Humanity (CCH) is a Swiss association founded in Geneva, Switzerland, in August 2019. It defines itself as a humanitarian peer support community committed to offering and promoting psychosocial and holistic solutions for humanitarian workers, both in Switzerland and internationally. The association’s work is based on three fundamental pillars: 1. Psychosocial support through humanitarian peer support CCH provides a peer-to-peer support platform — primarily online — allowing humanitarian workers to connect with others who have experienced similar realities in the field. This network aims to alleviate the psychological burdens inherent to humanitarian work by fostering resilience, recovery, and well-being. Advocacy and awareness-raising Through art, music, and other forms of expression, the association raises awareness about mental health issues within the humanitarian sector. CCH advocates for greater recognition of these challenges and promotes the implementation of more accessible and appropriate support systems for all humanitarian actors. Professionalization of humanitarian peer support CCH is currently developing a dedicated training program for peer support in the humanitarian context. The training covers the fundamentals of peer support, the recovery model, the value of experiential knowledge, and psychological first aid for first responders. This training is designed with a deep understanding of humanitarian field realities and draws on knowledge of the psychological conditions affecting professionals in the sector, such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), burnout, compassion fatigue, and vicarious trauma. Peer support, as implemented by CCH, plays a vital role in the sustainability, safety, and effectiveness of humanitarian missions around the world.
