CoFunder is the first FCA regulated Crowdfunding Lending company to be launch in Northern Ireland. Our focus is two fold. 1) Fill the funding gap facing Northern Irish Businesses, allowing them grow their business, 2) Provide a fair returns to Funders giving them choice, increased rates and control of their money. To address these issues and acknowledging the continued restrictive lending policies of traditional finance institutions, we have developed CoFunder aimed at quality, growth based companies who are already established and looking to expand and create jobs however they lack the necessary working capital to do so. We aim to match Funders with quality companies, who can lend from as little as £100.00 into any individual company. Companies can raise from to from the crowdfunding backers, so long as they have the required credit score (provided by our credit reference partner) and supply a director’s guarantee. Creditworthy businesses with funding requirements can connect directly to Funders with available capital to lend, removing the reliance upon the restrictive lending practices and high costs associated with bank funding. Funders can obtain interest rates which are better than the minimal rates currently offered by banks and institutions and through CoFunder’s online platform, can choose their own desired rate of return, amount of money they wish to lend a business, based on their interpretation of risk. The direct relationship this creates between Borrowers and Funders serves to improve Corporate Governance and responsibility. Borrowers know they are responsible to real people rather than faceless institutions and as such are less likely to default. Funders have a true sense of ownership and will act to benefit their investment e.g. using and promoting the businesses they invest in. CoFunder’s advanced social networking tools serve to promote these relationships.
